Plowing, sanding, sweeping and pothole repair is provided by the town for town roads only. 

• Pothole repairs typically begin after winter, once the ground has thawed and the roads have settled from frost heaves. This helps ensure lasting repairs and safer driving conditions. 
• Street sanding is scheduled to begin the end of April, weather permitting. We want to reassure residents that street sweeping is planned in advance following winter, but timing may be adjusted due to weather conditions or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control. We appreciate your patience as we work to keep our roads clean and safe. 
•  Driveway culvert maintenance and repairs are the responsibility of the property owner. The Town does not maintain or repair culverts located within private driveways.

The Winter Harbor Gymnasium is a multi-purpose facility designed to serve as the Town gym, a meeting hall, and a community gathering space. It is available for use by any Winter Harbor resident or local organization on a first-come, first-served basis. In the event of a scheduling conflict, a priority schedule is followed to determine availability.

If you're interested in using the gymnasium, please review the Gymnasium Use Policy and complete the Gym Use Request Form to get started.

Trash is picked up curbside on Thursday mornings by Downeast Disposal. You must have your trash on the curb  no later than 7:30am Thursday morning

Trash bags and trash stickers can be purchased at the town office, Winter Harbor Provisions or the 

5 & 10. 

Trash Bags: $1.50  each or $15.00 for 10

Stickers: $2.00

The Code Enforcement Officer (CEO) plays a vital role in ensuring that development and construction in Winter Harbor complies with local ordinances and state regulations.  The E-911 Addressing Officer is responsible for assigning and maintaining accurate physical addresses within the Town of Winter Harbor. Proper addressing ensures that emergency services, delivery services, and utility providers can locate homes and businesses quickly and efficiently.

Responsibilities include:

• Assigning new physical (street) addresses for properties
• Verifying and correcting address discrepancies
• Updating address information for new developments or subdivisions
• Coordinating with emergency services and state databases

• Subdividing land
