The Harbor Master for the Town of Winter Harbor is responsible for maintaining safe and orderly use of our harbor and waterfront areas. In accordance with M.R.S.A. Title 36, Section 1504(8), owners of documented vessels in the Town of Winter Harbor are required to pay an annual Excise Tax by December 31st.
Failure to pay this tax may result in a lien being placed on your real estate and filed with the Hancock County Registry of Deeds.
New excise tax stickers are available beginning December 1st each year at the Town Office.

All moorings located within Winter Harbor waters are required to have a valid Mooring Permit.
The 2024–2025 Mooring Permit Application is now available. The application deadline and payment must be submitted to the Town Office by the specified date to remain in compliance.
